Only 62 of these 8 coin proof sets were struck. They were issued during the depths of the Depression, and contains the elusive 1931 3d.

Very few circulation coins were struck in 1931, and the 1/2 Penny Suid Afrika in the set is extremely rare, with only 62 struck in proof and none for circulation.
