Details: 1888 1 Penny SA Oranje Vrystaat Nickel Plated PCGS SP64 1 Penny Nickel Plated : Diameter: 30.48 mm Weight: 9.56 A maximum mintage established of 20 Description: Except for the overstamped crown no circulation coins were struck from this series. Otto Nolte of Berlin acted as agents in having these pieces struck. Wolfgang Lauer, of Nuremberg, prepared the dies. No accurate mintage figures can be quoted. The 1887 and 1888 saw the Crown and Penny series issued. Free State Province.
