NATURA PRESTIGE SET "NATURES FAMILIES"
The 2011 Natura coin series features NATURES FAMILIES and depicts the popular Meerkat Family. The common obverse of this series shows part of a famiy in their typical watchful stance, stretched high on their back legs to observe all and sundry on the desert's horizon.
2012 PAINTED WOLF
NATURA PRESTIGE SET "NATURES FAMILIES"
The 2012 Natura series depicts the Painted Wolf of Africa, also known as the African Wild Dog. Each animal has an irregular mottled coat, the tan, black and white patterns unique to each individual. Although their behaviour is similar to that of the wolf of the northern hemisphere, they differ from dogs and wolves in that they have only four, not five toes on each foot.
2013 ZEBRA
NATURA PRESTIGE SET "NATURES FAMILIES"
Multi international award winning series, the Natura has become one of the South African Mints' most sought after coin series. The Natures Families series theme began in 2011 and fearured the Meerkat family. The 2012 features the Painted Wolf an endangered animal. The Zebra concludes the Nature's Families theme. Visually linking the families, the obverse of all the coins in all three themes feature seven animals.
