This presentation cased set of 26 silver medallions is a collection of historic individuals that are showcased as the pioneers of Southern Africa, including Dias, Retief, Pretorius, Livingstone, Selous, and Hobhouse. The medals were designed by renowned artists Pagliari of the Cape Mint and Trevor Wood, and produced and marketed in 1981 by the South African Historical Mint. This unique set is a valuable addition to any collection of Southern African historical interest, with each medal made of sterling silver, marked on the edge, and featuring mirror fields with frosted designs.
