INFO:

The Kruger gold pond, or "Kruger Pond," is a significant gold coin in South African history. Introduced in 1892 by the South African Republic (ZAR) under President Paul Kruger, it was produced at the Pretoria Mint and matched the weight and gold content of British sovereigns. These coins became symbols of national pride and reflected the economic boom of the Witwatersrand Gold Rush, significantly boosting South Africa's gold production. The coins ceased production in 1900 due to the Anglo-Boer War.
