The shipping of the coins from England to Pretoria has never been described. This is an interesting aspect as the railway line from Cape Town to Pretoria was only completed in later years. It was a difficult undertaking to get the unrefined gold from the Transvaal to England to mint coins to the same standard as the British Sovereign and transport the coins back to Pretoria.
