Date: Stephanus Johannes Paulus Kruger was born in 1825. He was the third child of Caspar Jan Hendrik Kruger and Elisa Steijn who were simple farmers.

Place: Vaalbank Farm in the Colesberg district of the Cape Colony 

Born on October 10 1825 at his grandfather's farm, Bulhoek in the Steynsburg district.

• 1/10th-ounce Gold Krugerrand Proof with Privy Mark: This tiny, limited-edition gold coin is struck from 91.67% fine gold and features a special "PK200" privy mark, which includes a miniature portrait of Kruger framed by his birth year, 1825.
• 1-ounce and 2-ounce Fine Silver Proof Krugerrands: These larger silver proof Krugerrands are made available to collectors in celebration of the 200-year milestone. Like their gold counterpart, they feature the classic effigy of Paul Kruger.
• Legacy on coins: Kruger's portrait has appeared on South African coins for 133 continuous years, starting with the ZAR coinage in 1892. His likeness was later revived on the Gold Krugerrand in 1967 and has been featured on the world-famous bullion coin ever since.
• Kruger National Park: The world-renowned Kruger National Park was named in his honor.
