Coin Specifications:

For the 2017 Proof Krugerrand Prestige 6-Coin Set, all six coins are 22-carat (916.67 fine) gold proof coins. The 2017 set was the first to include the new 1/20 oz and 1/50 oz denominations. The combined gross weight is about 65.14 g.

Why 677 matters

For collectors, 677 worldwide is considerably more significant than 800. It puts the set into a genuinely low-mintage category, particularly because it contains the complete six-denomination 2017 proof series, including the new 1/20 oz and 1/50 oz coins.

Proof Krugerrands

By contrast, were produced in much smaller numbers and receive considerably more attention during the minting process. Each coin is individually struck, often up to three times, using specially prepared dies to create the sharper details, frosted devices and distinctive mirror-like fields associated with a Proof finish.
